2014 Booneville, KY

We will be conducting our 11th outreach operation to Owsley County, Kentucky June 9th-13th. Owsley County is the poorest County in the United States according to the 2010 Census.

We will be conducting several different projects while in Kentucky.

  • Jehovah-Jireh {The Lord will Provide} Food will be providing & serving approximately 500 meals this trip.  Distributing food to those in need and working with Owsley County Outreach Corp and assisting Owsley County Outreach Corp with their backpack program. The goal of the backpack program is to make sure that every child has food while school in not in session.

o    We are collecting single serving size meats (potted, Vienna sausages, spam, ham, chicken, tuna, ect.)  The OCOC has great difficulty finding sponsors for the meats for the backpack program.  Deadline to get in these items is May 5th.

o    We will also be holding a Byways Party for "the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind". We will be loving on the folks that are seemingly unwanted and letting them know they are wanted and loved.  They will be invited to a banquet in their honor with food and entertainment.

o    We will be feeding the children in the week long Sports Camp lunch.

o    We will be at two Senior Living facilities and putting on a tribute to Mothers, feeding them lunch or dinner depending upon location and sharing the gospel.

  • Jehovah-Nissi {The Lord our Banner} Closet will be distributing spring/summer wear to those in need.  Any remaining clothing will be given to Owsley County Outreach Corp (OCOC), so they can continue to distribute to those in need.

o    We are collecting new & gently used children & youth clothing 6X to 18 Juniors.  Call for pick-up or drop of at 3155 S. Legacy Park Blvd.  Fort Mill, SC 29707. (When cleaning out your winter items and needing somewhere to take them, we can help you with that and take them to Booneville, KY with us.

  • Jehovah-Jireh {The Lord will Provide} Helps will be working with local ministries and churches to reach out to those in the community who need help.  We plan to provide some physical hands-on support as well as training people to help themselves.
    • The outreach training for this week has yet to be determined.
  • Elohim {Strong and Mighty God who keeps His promises} Ministry: God has touched our hearts mightily to use Sports to introduce children to Christ who would never come to a Youth Crusade or VBS.
who would never come to a Youth Crusade or VBS.

  • Jehovah-Shalom {The Lord is Peace} Ministry will be bringing the good news to shut-ins & nursing center along with having lunch with them one day.
  • Jehovah-Rophe {The Lord that Heals} Meetings will be conducting nightly meetings and presenting the too-good-to-be-true news, that really is true.
    • We will also be hosting a banquet in honor of those made in the image of God who would normally not get invited to a banquet (e.g. blind, lame, sever epileptic, cerebral palsy, and those who are physically, mentally and emotionally handicap).

Needs List

Donations  We are currently in need of $5000.00 for this up coming trip.  Please give if you can.

Quote from a previous trip “But, even through all the embarrassment, the child was still so excited to get these boxes of food that she could not wait to open one of them, before the driver could leave.  With joy and excitement, she then exclaimed, “Cereal!  We never have cereal!… I love cereal!”  The thrill and excitement that many families don’t see on Christmas Day, with a multitude of presents and thousands of dollars spent, was shown for a simple box of cereal!”  Read more of the story
